TNF Life & Exams 2026: Empowering BECE Students in North Tongu Through Education and Digital Access

The Theresa-Naomi Foundation (TNF) successfully hosted its flagship outreach program, Life & Exams 2026 – Project Workpoe 2.0, aimed at preparing Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates for success.

The initiative impacted close to 100 students across 5 schools in the North Tongu and South Tongu Districts of Ghana, combining mentorship, educational support, and digital access.

📍 Courtesy Visit to North Tongu District Assembly

The program commenced with a courtesy visit to the North Tongu District Assembly, where the TNF team engaged the District Chief Executive, Hon. Victoria Amefadzi Yawa Doe.

She expressed her appreciation for TNF’s continuous support, particularly the construction of a Library and ICT Lab at Workpoe D/A School, which is already enhancing teaching and learning in the community.

The TNF team shared the vision behind Life & Exams 2026, emphasizing its role in equipping students academically and mentally for the BECE.

🏫  Schools Reached in the Outreach

 

The outreach covered the following schools:

  • Workpoe D/A School

  • Mafi-Agorve D/A Basic School

  • Horkpo D/A Basic School

  • Adudornu RC Basic School

  • Lakpo D/A Basic School (South Tongu District)

The program focused on both academic preparation and life guidance, ensuring students are well-rounded and confident.

🎓 Life Before Exams: Preparing Students for BECE Success

The first session, “Life Before Exams”, was delivered by TNF Volunteer Salam Awal.

He encouraged students to:

  • Start their preparation early

  • Stay disciplined and focused

  • Believe in their ability to succeed

This session emphasized confidence, preparation, and resilience, key factors for excelling in the BECE.

🌱 Life After Exams: Guiding Students Beyond BECE

The second session, “Life After Exams”, was delivered by TNF Volunteer Rebecca Siaw.

She advised students to:

  • Engage in productive activities such as farming and vocational skills

  • Learn trades like tailoring, bead-making, and other crafts

  • Stay disciplined and avoid negative influences

She also spoke directly to the girls, encouraging them to protect their future and stay focused on their education.

This session helped students understand that success goes beyond exams and requires good life choices.

🎒 Distribution of Exam Kits to Students

As part of the outreach, TNF distributed Exam Preparation Kits to all BECE candidates.

Each kit included essential learning materials such as:

  • Mathematical sets

  • Pens

  • Erasers

  • Long rulers

  • Notepads

These resources are designed to ensure that no student is disadvantaged during their exams due to lack of materials.

🌍  Introducing the TNF Scholarship Fund

The session concluded with remarks from TNF President, Wahab Nurudin Lartey, who encouraged students to:

  • Believe in themselves

  • Stay committed to their studies

  • Aim for excellence

He also introduced the TNF Scholarship Fund, which will award a minimum of GHS 2,000 to students who achieve Aggregate 6 and above in the BECE.

This initiative serves as both motivation and reward for academic excellence.

💛 Impact and Looking Ahead

Life & Exams 2026 – Project Workpoe 2.0 was more than just a seminar. It was a holistic intervention combining:

  • Academic preparation

  • Life coaching

  • Resource support

  • Digital empowerment

Through initiatives like this, the Theresa-Naomi Foundation continues to bridge the educational gap and empower students in underserved communities.
