On Friday, June 15th, the TheresaNaomi Foundation, in collaboration with Fidelity Bank Ghana under their Employee Volunteering Program, launched the Life & Exams Project 2024 for selected schools in Ga Mashie. Participating schools included Korle Gono Methodist School A, Korle Gono Methodist School B, and Mamprobi South 3 Basic.
Thelma Naroog (climate researcher, University of Ghana) gave a motivating talk on exam preparation and the importance of using the long break post-exams for skill development and volunteering. This supports SDG 4: Quality Education by promoting lifelong learning opportunities.
Jennifer Addo (entrepreneur, JHBoutiq and Application Support Specialist, Eprocess International S.A) under the Naomi GirlPower initiative, inspired the girls to strive for excellence, gifting them books, sanitary pads, and journals. This aligns with SDG 5: Gender Equality, by empowering young girls through education.
Edem Murka (CSR Department, Fidelity Bank Ghana) spoke on sustainability and led students in taking the sustainability pledge, emphasizing the importance of a clean environment. This supports SDG 13: Climate Action by raising awareness about environmental sustainability.
Nurudin Wahab Lartey introduced the Theresa Naomi Scholarship and Mentorship Program, encouraging students to excel in their BECE exams and apply for the scholarship. This initiative further promotes SDG 4: Quality Education by providing financial aid and mentorship to deserving students.
We also extend our heartfelt thanks to Bill Afenya for MCing the program and Sylvia Tekyi for distributing the exam kits, which included exercise books, pens, long rulers, and mathematical sets.
A big thank you to Fidelity Bank Ghana for sponsoring this project, Baobab Entrepreneur for media partnership, and Nemlyn Catering for providing meals. Special thanks to Jennifer Addo of JHBoutiq for sponsoring the Naomi GirlPower awards.
Stay tuned for more updates on our initiatives and projects!
